Review of the OMOTON TP06
I think I just found the best pocket-sized iPhone tripod I’ve ever used…
…and it’s only $36.
Now, I’ve tested a lot of mobile accessories—tripods, mounts, clamps—you name it.
Most of them either feel cheap, bulky, has some have great features but are missing others
or they are just not flexible or strong enough in real-world shooting.
I’m not going to do an unboxing on this item, what’s the point?
But this light guy here… this one surprised me.
This is the OMOTON Magnetic Phone Tripod TP06, and it might be the most versatile little tool you can throw in your pocket.
BUILD & DESIGN
First off—this thing is tiny.
It folds down super slim, weighs almost nothing, and it’s built out of aluminum… so it actually feels solid.
It even comes with lanyard, which sounds minor, but makes it ridiculously easy to carry around.
This is the kind of gear you actually bring with you.
MAGNETIC FEATURE
Now here’s where it gets really interesting…
It’s fully magnetic as many of these are but…
these are not weak magnets—these are strong enough that you can literally stick your phone onto gym equipment, a fridge, or any metal surface and it just holds.
For shooting? That opens up a ton of creative options.
You’re no longer limited to where you can set a tripod…
Now you can mount it almost anywhere.
VERSATILITY
This isn’t just a tripod either.
You can use it:
As a desktop stand
A handheld selfie stick
Or even hook it onto objects for unique angles
And the adjustability is actually impressive:
Full 360° rotation - great if I need to use one side or the other.
So whether you’re shooting vertical for social, or horizontal for YouTube, it takes about two seconds to reframe.
EXPANDABILITY
And if you want to take things further…
It has a standard ¼-20 mount which is great since there is no cold shoe
And it’s Arca-Swiss compatible
So you can throw this onto a full tripod setup if you want more stability.
That’s something most pocket devices like this don’t offer.
REAL WORLD USE
For me, this fits perfectly into how I shoot.
Whether I’m:
•filming quick YouTube segments
•capturing behind-the-scenes
•or just grabbing a clean composition on the fly
And because this magnet is so strong, I can use any of my Maven Filters and have the confidence that it will all hold securely, even when I’m using 82mm filters, a light and mic, there is no problem
It’s one of those tools that removes any concerns.
And honestly—that’s what makes gear valuable.
VALUE
And here’s the kicker…
It’s only $36
For something this versatile, this well-built, and portable—that’s kind of hard to beat.
CONCLUSION
So yeah…
Right now, this is easily my favorite pocket-sized iPhone tripod.
If you’re shooting with your phone—especially for content creation—this is absolutely worth checking out.
